What's This?

What's This?

A Poem by Alvin L. Kathembe

What’s this?

This feeling

This lump in my throat

That won’t let me say

“Goodbye”?

What’s this?

This swelling

This thumping in my chest

Whenever you look at me

And jolts at your touch?

What’s this?

This itching

This attraction to your body

I find myself inching ever closer to your wild self

Is this what they call “Animal Magnetism”?

What’s this?

This madness

This elation in my mind

Like an explosion of light

Whenever our lips touch?

What’s this?

I love this poem! Muwaha, it is awesome. I love the reptition of 'what's this'. And wow, I can't spell worth crap. 'Repition'? Really, Cheezit? REALLY?! Excuse me while I hit my head on a notebook... Okay, I'm good now. "Repetition". Back to reviewing...

I love how it begins without being able to say 'goodbye', and at first I thought it would be about ohmygodihaveabrokenheart with a hint of comedy ['cause you're amazingly awesome like that! :3] but no! It's about attraction, which is amazing. I hardly get to read poems or anything about that. I love the "jolts at your touch" because I use the word 'jolts' a lot. It's one of my favorites because...because. xD I love the one about "Animal Magnetism" too because of the "itching". I think it describes it very very well. My favorite part however, is the one about the kiss. I know 'explosion of light' probably isnt a good line to love, but I love it anyway. It's help that it's written by you. xD It makes every word and every line magical and amazing, muwahah.

I like the whole poem, though, 'cause of the topic and the way you word things. It makes it easy to picture, to almost feel the attraction that's in the poem. I absolutely love that. What really pulled it together was the 'What's this?', and I'm going to end this reallyreallystupid review now before I repeat myself more. Just know that I love it and you are an amazing poem/writer.< 3

Nicely done:)

the questioning tone and title did this piece justice. The diction and flow was as always fantastic so props for another great piece!
