Home Is Where The Hate IsA Poem by Alvin L. KathembeGet those brooms.Home is where the hate is - It
was not always so; That
home should always be Where
the hate was; But
Hate came into the home And
made itself comfortable. Home
is where the hate is - Like
a broken tortoise’s shell We
carry it around Thinking
we can retreat into it To
be safe… But
that’s where we’re most vulnerable. Home
is where the hate is - At
the end of the day We
bring back some small token of hate To
sit on the shelves with the rest… Home
is where the hate is - ’Cause
the hate is in our hearts… Time
for some spring cleaning Don’t
you think? © 2011 Alvin L. KathembeReviews
