A tribute to the most wonderful woman in the world.

Your tears are golden, Mother

Wept on many a bitter night

Your thousand tears of anguish

Are as diamonds in my sight.

Shed for the cold, uncaring world

Your million tears of anguish

Are in my sight as perfect pearls.

 

Your tears are golden, Mother

Like raindrops, carried in the breeze

In pain you shed tears of blood

More precious than any rubies.

 

How often have I seen you

With the glittering in your eye?

And offered a lame shoulder

As I helplessly watched you cry?

How I wish I could collect them

And string them upon a chain

A priceless gift, just for you

Around your neck, it shall remain -

 

A promise to you, Mother

A perfect, priceless necklace

That I’ll never let another

Tear fall down from your face.

Great start bro! Loved this beginning stanza alot!
Lovely flow to it man. absolutely gripping and touching how you've worded this piece. Reminds me of the emotion i felt when writing THROUGHOUT THE AGES and i deeply understand the sentiment. (As should everyone).
I liked the rhyme and the poem's pattern. Beautiful tribute to a great person!
