A Few Words On MoneyA Poem by Alvin L. KathembeSelf-explanatory.
Money can’t make you happy
But it can sure help Money can’t buy love But good imitations exist; Not necessarily Chinese But if that’s what you’re into - Man can’t live without Love But many of us would settle for some money Money sells just ask the gangsta rappers Who throw it up like confetti Or the televangelists Who rake it in by the basketful. Talk is cheap Unless you’re the aforementioned rapper Or preacher In which case, the inverse is true; ’Cause they cash in on that money Who talk of little else. There’s an emptiness inside In your heart, your soul, your mind… An unfilled void… You’ve tried everything, searched everywhere Maybe the filler is Knowledge, or Love, or God You could spend a lifetime looking for it But then again, You could just stuff it full of some money And be content with that… If I can’t buy peace I’ll buy me some earplugs To block out the screams of my soul. © 2011 Alvin L.
