Words are wind
To fill our sails To propel our skiffs Across this lake called life The right ones can get us Out of the dreary doldrums; Or stir up a storm of words - Set our minds a-whirl In a hurricane of ideas Illuminating clouded thoughts With flashes of imagination. Words are wind Harsh, biting, gusts That bite right to the bone When a wordsmith's art Hits home; Or a morning breeze; dispelling mists Clearing fog, disproving myths Making things as plain as day. Words are wind; They lift minds that are laden with ideas Helping the formless inklings To collect and collate together, To precipitate into something solid Bringing relief to the land: Words are the wind that bring the rain That washes away the filth. © 2013 Alvin L.
