The atheist awoke clutching a nightmare of a new Messiah. This one would invoke terror and burning with such a simple message. Turning water into blood -- all the better to keep them sober -- so that the thickness would bond all men as brothers and all women as equals. And the Old Order would build crucifixes skyscraper tall, collecting clouds at the apex, because centuries of money begets power and power begets self-interest and self-interest begets a ruthless rage.
I really enjoyed the simplicity of your writing, but the sophistication of the message it belies. The image of the "Nightmar[ish]... new Messiah" of the capitalistic church, who monetize death, isolation and salvation, under the guise of unity, strikes me to the core. This captures fantastically the exact nature of the evils a church can breed, religion unhampered by faith.
i am not religious myself, yet not atheist either ... somewhere in between believing in me and in something else
so, are you trying to make me throw away this well balanced state of mine with your carefully measured out words?
i am not sure what would make me a believer, but i believe there is some thing worth believing in

I read the words but I really want to know what you're thinking/talking about here; other than the message at the last of it. Is this a rail against systems of power in general or something deeper than that?
