Your Ephemeral Forever

Your Ephemeral Forever

A Poem by tk
"

Never say “I Love You” unless you mean it. Never say you’ll wait unless you can prove it. Never say “Forever” unless you really want everything to last.

"

Your Ephemeral Forever

I believed every word you said, it seemed so sincere

To infinity and beyond is your promise I longed to hear

I felt infallible bliss when you told me that you will wait

That in the right time, we will be brought back by fate

Two months passed, it was a cold summer night

When you bid a goodbye without an explanation in sight

I was dazed; questions are left hanging in the air

Yesterday you said forever and always, now you don’t even care

Your love and affection lasted just a few months’ time

It was a hoax; breaking promises is an unforgivable crime

Everyone said that an eternity is a time not evanescent

But still you found a way to put everything to an end

It was such a bittersweet ending of our story

I wasted my time for a thing that was temporary

It’s such an irony how your forever turned into it’s over

It hurts but I’ll say farewell to you, my almost lover.

Author's Note

I wrote this for someone who ditched me. It did hurt, because I believed in every promise he said. Unfortunately, promises are really meant to be broken. Still, I wish him all the best.
Thanks for reading. I hope you like it!! ♥

Finally, after so many years, you have composed another exceptional piece. xD
The affluence of the words you used makes the poem very enthralling.
You have drawn up your emotions well. very exemplary work, :)

But so heart-breaking. I can relate... XD.
ano nang nangyari sa inyo?

Great poetry. I loved it and the way it flowed was amazing. You have a lot of talent. I enjoyed the topic a lot because it was very relateable to a lot of different people. I know what its liek to have someone come in and promise everything and then you end up walking away with shattered pieces of your heart. Great job with this and I can't wait to read more.

I can relate to this very much, you have written such an amazing poem. I especially loved the vocabulary of this piece, it's very simple with a couple higher sophisticated words thrown in. Great job!
