Generic Poem about Sadness

Generic Poem about Sadness

A Poem by T.K. Clay
"

Just what the title says it is.

"
What is sadness?
Is sadness
An emotion?
Well
Of course it is
Duh.

"What is the substance
Of sadness?"
Is a better question
I guess.

Well
Sadness is
Something we all experience
From time
To crappy time.

Sadness is
Knowng a person
Then finding out
They're a stranger.

Sadness is
Like a knife
Wait no; it's a really big f*****g sword
Like from an anime
Or video game
Or something
And it shoots lasers
Made of
Regret
Longing
Fear
Disappointment
Dead kittens
Oh god
Why
Why did I write dead kittens
That's too sad

Inebriation is
The mouth throwing up the stomach
Sadness is
The eyes throwing up the stomach
Or rather
the knots
In said stomach.

Sadness is
Masturbating
And orgasming
But still finding no pleasure
Because you're alone,
It's two am,
And you're lying half-naked
On your living room floor.
(Um...
...Yuck)

Sadness is
Smiling
When your eyes are nauseous

Sadness is
Scanning a crowd
And finding nobody.

Sadness is
What comes after
The humiliation
And shame
Of learning you were lied to.

Sadness is
Not finding a song
With just the right lyrics
To angst to
While staring out a window
Mysteriously
Because potential sexual partners
Love mystery
Or at least
I think
I don't know much about romance.

Sadness is
Being mad
Because you're sad
Because you don't believe you get to feel that
Because you have to make sure
Everyone else
Isn't.

Sadness is
being 18
And giving your first kiss
To lips
That don't even remember theirs.

Sadness is
Cracking a joke
To distract yourself
For just a bit longer.

Hamburg
Is a city in Germany
That sounds like hamburger
I included that fact
Because I'm hungry.

Sadness is
Not having a drink
With which to wash down
Your hamburger.

Sadness is
Being forgotten
Like that drink
I forgot to get
That would've washed down my hamburger.

Sadness is
The quality
Of this poem.

Sadness is
Something
Something
Words.

Depression is
Waking up
With the sun in your face
And just laying there
And trying
And trying
And failing
To go back to sleep.

Depression is
Not cracking a joke
Because you just
Cannot stand
The sound of your voice
Or the sight of your face
Or the silence of your phone.

And depression is
Not what I felt when I wrote this
I was just whining
Forget this
And forget me
Because I'm a teenager
With teenage angst
I'm fine
Really.

lol this poem is hysterical!!!! I get exactly what you mean, though. I could get the meaning from the title alone. This is great!!! It made me laugh so much, partially because it's funny and partially because it's true! I particularly love the change of mood in the last stanza that's what made me laugh the most:):):)
