Ode to a regretted loveA Poem by Tiffany K CharlesOde to a Regretted Love Oh, how I long to hold thee close, My beloved, who once was mine. In youthful days, I was but a rose, fair but with thorns most unkind. I let my pride and jealousy reign And drove away the love I sought. I foolishly caused thee pain, And now I am forever wrought. If only I could turn back time, And undo the mistakes I made. I'd show thee love in its prime, And never again be so afraid. But alas, my love tis lost, And I left with an empty heart. I'd give anything at any cost, To have a chance to restart. Oh, how I yearn for thee, my love, to hold thee even close, and make amends. I vow to be gentle as a dove and to cherish thee until the end.
