9 times out of Ten

Nine times out of ten, you want me. You love me all and just the same. You uplift me and encourage me. Then, you drink me and devour me.

Nine times out of ten, you motivate me. You are the very best you can be. You are a man. And never do you pretend.

Nine times out of ten, you are understanding and calm. You only want to be loved and appreciated in return. You work hard to provide; you are the light of my life. Yet, your words are never stern.

Nine times out of ten, your thoughts are consumed with me as mines are of you. You fill me up with more than enough. You show me that I'm all you need and care for me too.

I know that your intention is a love poem to praise the virtues of a loved one - and you have done this brilliantly - but the nine times out of ten sounds a bit like a report card........

Don't get me wrong, your expression is spot on, but at the end of the poem, despite all the compliments, I am wondering ......"what is it that 10%" she cannot stand.....;)

I loved this. 9 out of 10 times we get it right in a relationship but sometimes we don't.

Perhaps you should mention the failures to give the piece a bit of edge.

I have plenty more poems that deal with that subject. I just started really posting my work on here. I am a painter as well..... But I will post more and would love more of your feedback.... I am wanting to be a better poet. So any comments would be appreciated love... thanks again......
