As we sit on the hood of the car, my hand inches away

I’ve made the unbearable mistake

Of saying, I love you

We’ve known each other so long, our friendship keeping me awake

But I’ve been feeling fake

Cause I know that, I love you

I wasn’t sure if you knew it too, but now your head shakes,

Your Honey Eyes look away, quake

You couldn’t say it back, “I love you.”

Now my heart aches, will this friendship break?

Your Honey Eyes, I cherish, fill with tears as clear as a lake.

That’s the last time, I’ll say it. As not to hurt you…

But can I stop loving you?

A prompt challenge with AssonanceWriter with the prompt being "Unrequited Love"! It was fun. ^_^ This was the first thing that popped into my head when I heard the prompt so I scribbled it down. lol What do you think? Have you ever had an Unrequited Love?
