A Pathfinder Moment

The dragon takes a breath

And releases the fire

The cleric is down

The situation turns dire

The warrior looks around

And sees she’s the only one standing

It’s her turn now 

And the tension is rising

She furrows her brow

And goes for a risky maneuver

The gem on the beasts throat

If she hit’s it, it’s over

The player rolls the dice

The table is silent

It looks like a 4, then tips slowly more twice

At 20, there’s shouts of happiness and smiling

A critical hit!

As the warrior rushes

The dragon attempts to bite

As she swings, blood gushes

With a yell it is fell

And it’s treasure hoard is unbound

She turns  to her allies and whispers, “We did it”

Safe, is our town.

Author's Note

A fun poem that I did in my college Creative Writing class. When I read it to my group, they looked at me and asked, "What's Pathfinder?" ....should have explained that first. lol! Anyway, feel free to leave comments on your thoughts about the poem! Thanks for reading!
