Dislodging a Disease

In the friendliest way,
I've now cut you off.

My attention,
my thoughts,
are no longer yours.

Enough
concentration and ink
have been wasted.

You probably won't notice
my absence.

There's no anger,
no animosity,
just more time
freed up as I discard
dead weight
moving forward.

My pen is more choosy
these days,

my mind
more
directed.

~

I'm sorry,

do I know you?
