Color of a Raven

Color of a Raven

A Poem by Another Relic

Stress encircled her eyes and head.
~
When any hope was hopeless
and light-years away,
she opened her dresser drawer.
~
Beneath pharmacy referrals
and credit card bills,
its black metal trigger resembled
the color of a raven.
~
At the speed of light
and with enough energy
to shoot across the expanse of space,
it made her weightless"
a heavenly body.
~
Her universe transformed
as skull fragments exploded like stardust
escaping a black hole.
