Contemplation

Contemplation

A Poem by Zach Gordano

Sometimes I feel you could care less,
I know you're stressed, but I'm depressed.
So let me come back in your arms.
You're making such a huge mistake.
If you want a break then pull the brakes,
And break my heart in two.

I'm not sure what more you want,
But I gave my whole life to you.
I'll tell you now, I told you then,
You need time for your friends.
Scared to lose, so now you choose,
Between them,
And I...

I know you have a lot on your plate,
But you barely even ate.
I will help you finish your meal,
I will help you deal,
With the pressure.
It's not so hard, I promise you that,
It's something, together, we will work at.

So blame me for all your problems now
It was all my negativity.
Lie to yourself, lie to me.
We both know that's not what's troubling you.
I can read you like a book,
So open up to me.
I am not him, I am me.
You're too scared to say it,
A trap plausibly re-visited, in your mind,
But you still love me...
