Letters of RegretA Poem by THESt3VThis one was supposed to be written along with Yours Truly (you may notice similarities), but I just couldn't write it until now. Anyways, here it is.My love...
And so this is how it ends
The years just seem to pass us by.
I can’t say the things I should have
Everyone knows its too late now.
Too late to change who I was
And the regret starts to build within my chest.
It’s getting hot in here and the regret starts to build.
And if you’re listening this time
You might hear my voice break when I scream
I’ve filled pages of words meant to
Never meet your eyes. Letters of
Regret that will never reach your hands.
I’ve written so much that ink runs
In my veins and where my heart used to be
Lies our unfinished novel, waiting for you
To fashion us an ending.
My throat is raw from apologies
I’ve been screaming every word you’ll never read.
I still have every letter,
And I’ve signed them all In loving memory.
