Since the day we met I knew

My mind knew

Continuously I pushed it away

How intrinsic feelings can be

Absence the next

Like a broken record stuck on replay my life was

Only then did I see

My mind was right once again

Repeatedly I abuse my heart

Intentionally no, though anyway

When you fall so hard that you’re blinded by what might be

You fail to see, I fail see what’s happening in the moment

Searching, I search for what might make me shed the tears

I try and I try and I try again

But nothing will make them drop

Only then do I see

The only reason I can’t shed a tear is that

I’m too invested in this disease they call heartbreak
