Animals take a lot of time

I have seven that are mine

I have a cat that likes to climb

But one thing I don’t understand is what they eat at mealtime

All my birds squawk when the doorbells chime

One funny thing was when I fed my cat key lime

Paying for them costs way more than a dime

But I can’t give them attention when I’m making these end rhymes
