Night Fall

The sapphire moon shadowed over the roaring flames, smoke engulfed the little cabin. Screams echoed across the land as the flames took rise in the village. Going outside wouldn’t help the families of Devillion, which translated means City of Vampires. Tears escaped young Ray’s eyes as he was crawling to the door were his mother laid coughing and weak. He rose his weak body and limped to her, collapsing beside her and pushing her screaming for her to return to him. She sighed in agony and he crawled beneath her warmed and lifted her enough to carry her a short way. His legs gave in and his strength decreased completely after he escaped the flames. He could barely keep his golden eyes open and his whole body was paralyzed.

“Kallen we got some hum…” A man’s voice faded with the wind.

Ray:

I snapped up in a cold sweat trembling. Why would I remember this now it has been ten years since that night of hell? I touched my lower abdomen where the only scar left physically on my body of that night was. I know I won’t be able to fall back to sleep so I got up and walked to my balcony. I looked outside, the golden rays of sun tried to scorch my skin. I hate being trapped here in the daytime but Kallen don’t trust me with a daylight ring of my own. I’m his precious weapon against a common enemy werewolves. Just thinking about those monsters make me crave their blood. I heard the soft steps of his boots as he entered.

“Why aren’t you sleep Ray?” Kallen greeted.

“I can’t sleep. I am starving.” I said still turned away from him.

“Go back to bed or I won’t feed you tonight.” He threaten, he always have to be controlling like that.

“Whatever.” I said turning and walking back to the bed. “Just leave me a lone so I can get some sleep.”

“Don’t get smart and go to sleep!” He ordered and every ounce of my body went numb and darkness came.

Kallen words are my law if I like it or not. He says to kill someone and he can call them dead at that moment. Sad thing is he is a controlling jackass. I can’t stand him but at the end of the day, he’s like family. You know that older brother that would kill for you type guy. I don’t really remember what happened after I passed out. All I know is Mama dyed while I was out and my father is nowhere to be found. They left behind an immortal freak of nature half vampire half sorcerer. To be honest I shouldn’t even be a live and because I am the key to destruction.
