Wind II

Wind II

A Story by T. F. Rice

Just a little experiment with words... that ended up in my newest book...

Wind   I I

Wind whips the clouds across the sky: “Giddyap!”  He is always the comedian, that Wind, sending my skirt tails skyward, your newspaper a-fly, a man’s hat down the sidewalk brim-over-brim as if galloping… and once in a while, Wind lifts a child’s paper airplane just so, a good use for that ugly junk mail that sneaks otherwise into the streets. And on the street the people stop to watch where this makeshift plane will go. The man is still chasing his hat in the distance, crossing the street, forgotten by the people.
