Right Or Wrong?

Right Or Wrong?

A Poem by Terrence Chang
"

What is right and what is wrong?

"
I am tired of all the negativities
I am tired of all the caviling
This world has to offer

We all say that we need to save earth
But who are telling these lies?
The earth is going to live long and strong
It is we who are going to perish

Petrified to the concept of death
It is we who are making ourself suffer
Consciousness is a blessing and a curse
So look at the flip side of the coin

Notice the flaw that we made
We all say that it is bad to have pride
And being modest is one of the key of life
Yet we say to have pride in ourselves

Giving a child all the knowledge in the world
Is like giving him a scalpel at his disposal
You will never know what he might do?
He might save your life or dissect for experiments

Theoretically and Practicality are always on conflict
Questioning the Questions for our answers
What is the purpose of our true extistance
What is actually making us as an intelligent being

We are swimming with a delicate piece of sanity
Against the vast ocean of insanity
Meeting with strangers in varity
And set the fire arousing our vanity

We all are sad and gloomy at the funeral
Yet we want to see a man at the execution
His actions tore apart many families and friends
But by doing this aren't you decimating his family

Day by day it is becoming clearer to a conscious man
That we are known for our hypocritical history to reflect
Scaring either the country's heros or the antagonist
But I know that it is just manuplation of agendas and facts

Converse with your thought now against the question
Where is the fine line of sanity presented to you
Don't blame yourself and don't blame the environment
And never ever rely on your hopes and luck to change

We are intelligent beings with a huge flaw
We are fighting for truth and wisdom
We are no devils and defintely not a god
We are humans and humans we shall be

"The earth is going to live long and strong
It is we who are going to perish .."

You've captured the dilemma in these two lines!

After all, with all our 'flaws', "We are humans and humans we shall be "

A thoughtful piece.

This is a brilliant poem my friend. Self destruction is a human trait. Very nicely expressed in your words.

And I do argree with your opinion that man's self destruction is a natural trait
I liked most this verse" We all are sad and gloomy at the funeral Yet we want to see a man at the execution His actions tore apart many families and friends But by doing this aren't you decimating his family" it really happens but don't consider it unusual.Good writing keep it up..

You're welcome.
I love the way you have replaced the idealistic with the realistic in this rather clever view of human qualities. We all have different strengths and weaknesses. but both can be employed to provide a
positive outcome according to our own needs and conscience.

Thank you soo much Mr Norman for your kind review towards me.
We are humans with different minds and hearts. We have different beliefs. We follow different norms and traditions. I think the answer to the question depends on our faith, conscience and belief.

This is a profound piece, Terrence. Well-done!
