The Code

The Code

A Poem by Terrence Chang
"

Question what is within

"

In the time of humanity

There are doubts left within ourselves

Still sleeping in ignorance

We condemned the truth

With no shame in being prejudices

And embrace the lies

Fighting our ways

That leads us to cry

Divided souls and shattered sky

Pitting ourselves into the deep ocean

On a man’s quest to discover

We destroy the only thing that we cling

A slice of happiness to tears

Dropping from our eyes

Say no mare

As desire becomes our greed

For men forgets its deeds

Laughter is just a despair

Jailing our hearts

Closure to shyness

Depending on survival

To think and justify

No point to become great

If we are not ready to swim the tide

No one knows until we pass

Or sink within failure

Who is to bare?

Who is to go?

Lost only in the limitless space

Where journey has no end

Cry and cry

That is all left

Only to see ourselves gone

Deprived in melancholy

Felling pestilence to our human race

Share no more thoughts

Consciousness has devoured in guilt

Each and every stepping stones

Our legs leaping on journeys

A hallucination runaway

Escaping to different fate

Dark and cold

The feeling in my heart

To where we cognate as one

We are severed in different ways

Run and scream

The code is alarming

A Solipsist is born

To deny your existence

As he says “I AM VIRTUOUS”

And we are blinded

Blinded by brightness

For humans are egocentric

If it is good

They will follow

Stepping in the land of fallow

And make it dogmatic

But little do we know

With these direful actions

We are impaling faith

A hope within our self

Where is the code

The code that solves

This heinous equation

Or is there any?

At least one.

Certainly a powerful write, but also a bit dark....a bit depressing actually. We must have hope within ourselves in order to move forward. I am not sure all humans are egocentric. There are many altruistic souls...fortunately. A strongly opinionated piece. Lydi**

Thank you soo much for your generous review Dhrit
We have much to be thankful for Terrence - if we take our heads out of our assess and look with our hearts instead of our easily fooled eyeballs.
Thought stirring piece T.C.

Thank you soo much James
if humans think it is good, they will follow...and that is the key....we get so high and mighty on ourselves, we forget to really understand and show compassion for each other...we just live in a judgmental state, whose capital is vanity.

nicely done, Terrence.
