SatiA Poem by Terrence ChangA Hindu practice of a widow throwing herself on to her husband's funeral pyre. This is banned but yet it happens in certain parts of the backwards area in our country
I have loved you
With all my heart With all my soul But I could not die for you And yet when you passed Society never wanted me to last They thought that I was a malediction And took your life away You know me well You knew me well The widow now wore a white dress Loosing was anyway hard to brace Yet they threw me in burning inferno Incinerating my life right in front of my face I loved you enough to let you go But immature traditions only brought me An immature death to which I oppose © 2015 Terrence ChangAuthor's Note
