A Letter From The Boy

A tribute to George Stinny Jr

Dear Mother & Father, 

I sincerely apologise for the abrupt goodbye 
I am in deep remorse for my innocence 
And I am just a boy who cared for you 

But my caring attitude only gave you jeopardy 

The homicide of none 
Still the execution is to be done 
I live no more to see another day 
No ignominy, no me nor you 
I just wanted to say "I am sorry" 
Though my sound is silent 

I wrote this letter before the time 
You acknowledge that I am writing 
And reading it with a gloomy rivery eye 
Judge not my fragile hand who wrote it 
But conversing in regret between the line 
My only regret is to be your late son 
A dilapidated case for everyone 

As the holy book gave me strength 
Which became my only strength 
The heart I once beat with emotions 
I know not if I could became a honest man 
Only time would tell me 
But time has slipped away from my hand 
Worry not for I am just a leap away from paradise 

Time to tell its bitter farewell 
Even though I am too small and paranoid 
I am sitting in that life leaching chair 
As they concealed my little face 
My tiny soul clustered into space

This is an excellent piece that gripped my heart from start to finish. How anyone could do this to a 14yr old child beggars belief!

The first line in the first stanza: "sincere" should say "sincerely".
The second line in the first stanza: "remose" should say "remorse".

The third line in the third stanza: "And reading it with gloomy rivery eye" should sound a bit different.

The first line in the final stanza: "it's" should be "its".

Overall, this poem was written well. Nice work.

George Stinny Jr the child who was executed on June 16th, 1944, Colombia, South Carolina in Central Correctional Institution. By 7:30pm he was declared dead at the tender age of 14.
This is the saddest day for the world as a child was sentenced to death. It is an horrendous scene from utmost gruesome evil genius.
I only wrote for the poor boy. Who never been given any chance. I am sorry for not being born at that time to help and aid you from those atrocious evil. You who died innocent shall not be forgotten and will ring a bell in everyone's ears
