Time For Revolution
A Poem by C.T. Bailey
Trigee...very challenging...read the poem on the left, then the one on the right, then read left to right for three poems in one. I have compounded the difficulty by using the acrostic form. I have also included poetic device of alliteration.
For while we sleep they pillage...................As our families are attacked;
And Where is our outrage,.........................Their offenses are overwhelming;
The founding fathers reviled such...............Evil and injustice and added to that are
Countless violations of our freedoms,...........other vehement lawless deeds,
And finally taxing us to poverty..................with prêt ell a lack of representation
They will again incite revolution.................of the people, by the people and for the people.

This is great--the acrostic is a good idea. Even though there are three poems in one, it all flows well, and each poem is equally effective--how did you do it? I especially like the last line: "of the people, by the people, and for the people." We do need to go back and read the words of our founders. Your poem touches on so much of what they wrote and spoke about. Nice work!
