Death, mythical bird

Thornbird

 Angelic wings flutter frantically

during the death spiral.

Her fragile form,

dripping crimson and scarlet,

superimposes the thorn

on which she has impaled herself.

Like a knife through the heart,

piercing its depths

speaks volumes on love.

it sure does ..speak volumes that is ... i am impacted by the imagery and appreciate the no frills language ...yet the message for me is very emotive and your poem drew me in .. for the kill so to speak :( these lines:
"dripping crimson and scarlet,

I just listened to Sislena Caparrosa's operatic voice. What a talent for so young a woman.

If you like opera, listen to her on this video. She's the second song, but the first (an instrumental) is lovely too.

She should be singing at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York or with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. Her braces are off now and she's beautiful. Check it out! :-)
