How Far...

How far would you go to save a life?

How Far?

How far are you willing to go to save someone 

would you dive into the very heart of the sun 

would you be willing to play the worst part 

forsaking your love to free thier hurting heart 

could you run into a burning house to do it 

if your skin began to boil would you go thru it 

if you knew you could save them but you'd die 

would you even be willing to give it a try 

or would you stand on the street with the rest 

crying and praying for someone else to do their best 

but no one is doing what you know you alone should do 

and no will save that life from the flames but you 

but a huge fear is standing by you in the crowd 

and it is whispering in your ear so very loud 

"you should stay here and forget that you care, 

let someone else save her you don't go in there!" 

"don't you know that the fire will kill you dead, 

stand here with the rest who can't care instead." 

"it'll be ok, she'll either make it out or not, 

don't you go and foolishly waste all that you've got!" 

but you know that that person inside could be you 

and there is no way you could do what fear say's to. 

so you plunge headlong into the flames with love 

searching while the house is burning below and above 

finally finding the person cowering in fearful flames 

while fear is with them saying "don't run, that's insane" 

"stay here and wait till someone comes and rescues you" 

but that fear did not know you would do what you had to 

it was banking on the fact that no one would care 

it was hoping you would go up in flames right there 

but love was in that crowd too and heard your cry 

so it whispered in to the hearts for all to try 

but very few listen to their hearts only their head 

so they hear not the voice of love but fear instead 

but the few hearts of those who hear loves call 

run forward into those house's willing to risk it all 

and they find those soul's who are lost in the flames 

and they silently put an end to all of fears cruel games!
