turbulance

turbulance

A Poem by T

Was it the ocean

the waters deep and blue

constantly changing direction with the undertow

that brought down with a force your attention?

The fear of the unknown that lies beneath?

The beasts and the angels you can sense in the darkness

that made you think twice?

Because you like to stay on the surface

with your surface fears.

Where you can see what lies before you

and not the soul of who I am.

Too much damn water!

I love the imagination that goes into such a vivid comparison between the turbulent ocean pounding the shore & the way life can feel . . . or love . . . or trying something new & scary. It’s hard to decide whether being “on the surface” is a good place to stay or if your message is suggesting such superficiality can be less desirable than taking a deep dive. The final line, well-crafted, makes your message feel like permanent indecision on this point. That’s very true-to-life, the uncertainty, the pros & cons of each possibility making things too turbulent! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

This was incredible, I loved the message written here. I hope who ever you wrote this for forgets there fears and digs a little deeper. Beautiful!

So many are afraid to dive in and take a swim in unchartered waters. They could find such a pleasant warmth and a refreshing swim if they were only brave enough. I absolutely love the way this ended.
