Mercury

Mercury

A Poem by What happened to simple old me?

Wash into a dream, a concoction of unfriendly fires

I'll take your bronze and discolour the shine

once left in your skin; a simple task

a delight has now faded

from our everyday lives.

I'll sail far, from all we were.

Though that cannot be said

to be much. A blackened liquid, thick

took place. You smelt sweet to me,

a mercury flowing through my oil.

'Death was just a simple glance across a dim lit room And those eyes did it Those three words did it Those three words killed him And I surrender to it all Between you and me, I surrender to you .. more..
