Two minutes to Midnight

Two minutes to Midnight

A Poem by What happened to simple old me?

I'm a box of half-done drawings, a mission in disguise
one sleeping home on the floor
defeated by the day
dead and done
collapsed;
tomorrow dawns
a significant sunrise
breaking through to hit
my swelling eyes, they crease
and repeat in number, many blinks.

...
. that spectacular first line starts the trail of the remaining exquisite lines of poetry ... "tomorrow will dawn a significant sunrise" ... even if it turns out to actually be day after tomorrow ... patience pays ...
