Another Wednesday

A Poem by What happened to simple old me?

You know, it's been a year exactly. Since I told you
everything that was happening. Laid my life out on the table,
hoping, at that time praying, that you'd understand. I haven't lost
the feeling of needing to have you there; though I have lost infatuation.
All for a good cause of course. I miss the way we used to be, but I love the way
we are now, almost. I wish I could spend a week in your company, just that calming
feeling, that I don't have to know anything all of a sudden. Just, where I can say things,
and where maybe for the first time in my life someone would get to know me aside of all
the lies. Apart from the protection.

very candid & straightforward, I like this a lot, I love the way you were so open with your emotions...it really makes for a strong, erm, 'connection' to the reader. I like the title, too, it's what drew me in. Great piece :)

'Death was just a simple glance across a dim lit room And those eyes did it Those three words did it Those three words killed him And I surrender to it all Between you and me, I surrender to you .. more..
