Distant November

Distant November

A Poem by What happened to simple old me?

paper thin tissue;
tonight, warm amber firelight
reflecting in your eyes, so keen,
delightful. How I miss your surprises,
and long flashes of vindictive love
the beautiful brown eyes, glimpses
trust and shine down those of clear-glass mirrors
that came back last night. You have me on edge -
just tell me what it is, why hide now, carry on
as before if all is.. one true
tell them it's true.
Don't objectify the situation, tell yourself now
I can't keep on with this. So while letting myself go
loosened ribbons, twindling slow unravelings
you have me undone, as I long for again
though only if you were standing there
waiting in warm black silence
behind,
there is my love.

About
'Death was just a simple glance across a dim lit room And those eyes did it Those three words did it Those three words killed him And I surrender to it all Between you and me, I surrender to you .. more..
