A Poem by What happened to simple old me?

You want to lean down, you ask for that kiss
and as you do, I break to you
shards of why It can't just be you and me.

I'll tell you there can be others, even though I wouldn't go near them.
The fear of a painful ending, makes it possible to want hurt
right from the beginning.
I'd let you have anyone else anyway, because this way I'd never be truly happy
That I feel I can't anyway, it allows for a sweeter ending, when I finish it.
I'd be too scared to let you just have me, there's always got to be a reason for you to leave.
If I give you the reasons, I can blame myself for letting you hurt me. I find it so hard to get
past it all when there's someone else to blame.

About
'Death was just a simple glance across a dim lit room And those eyes did it Those three words did it Those three words killed him And I surrender to it all Between you and me, I surrender to you .. more..
