A Poem by What happened to simple old me?
"

Do you remember a happier time?

"
You used to see me laughing, high flying.
That smile so wide matched the opportunities I had,
laid out for me, no one was in the way.

If you'd have asked me to stop I'd have carried on like a ride
at the park round and round
everything flying past as you spun me round on it -
hair, with wind running through like your fingers
you brushed my hair and cared

So why one day did I see the truth?
You let me, now I'm not the same, with you.
I'd be in the park, spun round slow on the ride.
You watch my eyes hazy, vacancy takes over.
Where's the smile? The opportunities now gone?
I blame myself, for letting myself turn to this.

And want as I might think you also might,
why do I know there is no way back?

Then a love came, greater than all.
Though I feel it does not match at times.
Delirious my mind runs. You look at my camera roll
and in the sempre tone, you'll make out a tear
that is now torn, from the darkness I've been taken over by.

Author's Note

What happened to simple old me?
This poem is telling of the turn around in my life, from when I was a cheery kiddie to how I am now through things that happened that I found out about...

About
'Death was just a simple glance across a dim lit room And those eyes did it Those three words did it Those three words killed him And I surrender to it all Between you and me, I surrender to you .. more..
