Trailing raptureA Poem by What happened to simple old me?
Walk, you walk with me
Not for long as I'd like this night, it's only day When I looked up, the surrealism hit me. What am I trying to cast over your life? I smirk on the inside, though it shows through, even when I struggle, even though the plains stay on, they are the emptiness I feel, though I'd walk them any day. Try to let go, throwing yourself at it. There's that thing stopping, stuttering as I shake to grief. Again. And the ribbon wrapped around my wrist, even it comes undone to fit my personality. It lives in me, over me, on me. This consuming, victorious race that beats my life. But as I sit in the dark, the beautiful place that I absorb - I'm smiling.
