Love You Right

Love You Right

A Poem by Emily Irene.
"

Ode to RC.

"

Counting the stars tonight,
one by one I make a wish
for a way to make you see
you are so beautiful to me.

Now, with all due respect,
do you realize who I am?
I'm the girl who,
if given the right chance,
would love you forever.

Now please,
when I ask you how you feel about me,
cushion the blows.
I know I'm not as pretty as those girls in the magazines,
but I could love you right.

Believe me:
if I know nothing else,
I know I could love you right.

Author's Note

Emily Irene.
Some older stuff, about a guy I thought I loved. Infatuation is, in retrospect, more appropriate.

Being loved right is a damn good offer. You wrote a excellent poem. No wasted words.
