Cigarettes and Egg Nog

Cigarettes and Egg Nog

A Poem by Emily Irene.
"

December 2008.

"

Here comes another day,
filtering through my blinds,
making itself at home in my humble abode.
The taste of cigarette in the back of my mouth,
mixed with the taste of egg nog,
reminds me of years past
and how much I used to enjoy this time of year.
Now, you ask?
The holidays are just an excuse
to get wasted
and say a few things I shouldn't be so honest about.
