Better Off For Leaving

Better Off For Leaving

A Poem by Emily Irene.
"

November 2008; inspired by the song "Does He Love You?" by Rilo Kiley.

"

Can you live
without
the attention?
Can you breathe
without
the attention?
Your life is just so sick,
so sad,
and so confusing.
Could you do me just one thing?
Live for the future,
and don't listen to me
when I tell you
you're better off for leaving.

Terse good-byes...leaving behind the emptiness of a shadow.

Nicely summarized in your punchy poem.

Good work...!
