Stomach Acid

Stomach Acid

A Poem by Emily Irene.
"

November 2008.

"

The acid collects in my stomach
as the pills begin to digest
and I never told you this,
old friend,
but you were really
the only thing right
I ever did see.
Swallowing two at a time,
dying to feel the effects of a lifetime of medication
pounding on my door.
Where did you go?
And did you get to find yourself there?
