Relapse's Pulse

Relapse's Pulse

A Poem by Emily Irene.
"

October 2006.

"

I've been clean for three months,

and now you're coming 'round

to talk to me.

Didn't you hear?

I'm nice and sober,

and if you ask me

I'll say I'd like to stay that way.

So don't come knockin' at my door.

You're relapse with a pulse

and if I let you get inside,

I'll be down;

straight down for the count.

hey hows it going? well first off, i dont think you need "I'll say" from that line. I think its the seventh one. I also would like to see you do away with the last line. besides that, this is pretty clean. It's tight and well written. I enjoyed it. Well this is pretty good. I think I would want more specific details. Like because with addiction and even with recovery there are detriments and things that are missed that are special to each person. And I think with adding things specific to this speaker you can make this poem stand out more. I hope that made sense.
