Forgive & Forget

Forgive & Forget

A Poem by Emily Irene.

She watched me shake like an earthquake,

without a motion at all.

She made me crumble to my knees

then slowly stepped away.

She looked at me like dirt

as I begged for her to stay.

"I can forgive," I say.

"And I can forget," she reminds me.
