No More Islands.

No More Islands.

A Poem by Emily Irene.
"

This is a sequel to another of my poems, "Our Island"

"
You made me believe
we lived in our own world,
stranded together on my island of a bed.

Now I know
you were calling for a rescue
the whole time.

I fell in love with your complexities,
with the way you held me,
those bright blue eyes
and the sound of your heart.

Now I know
there's a reason our hearts
never beat in time.
