Humanity

A Poem by SypherDostravius

People walking by

Everyday

Nothing new

Always the same

The same ‘Hellos’

And the same ‘goodbyes’

No excitement

Just boredom

Staring into the endless

Abyss of white in the walls

The clock ticks away precious

Minutes of my life

While I am stuck behind a desk

Entering names into a machine

Built for people like me

Drones

Scuttling about the world

Performing our menial tasks

Each day

The same routine everyday

It’s an endless cycle…

Hahaha...it's always amusing to consider that "Hello" can be reconstructed to "Hell on you" and "goodbye" is.....well rather than re-explain just check out my short story "Ta-ta."

But isn't this true, eh? Where's the self-worth? Tick-tock, tick-tock, inhale-exhale, inhale-exhale.

Some wise friends of mine once said (and either they heard it from someone else, but anywho) that a person should wake up and get out of bed because they want to, not out of habit.

And boredom--not evil, not love, not sin, not grace--is the real bane of humankind.
