Tough Love

Tough Love

A Poem by SypherDostravius

I never meant to hurt her,

I never meant to be so cold,

But I had to break her down

To pull her closer

Bind her to me.

I want her to know love

To express herself

With something else besides

Anger.

It festers inside her

Boils away all other

Emotions.

It consumes her

Every thought

Every movement

I long to shatter

That emotion

Break it down

Into a slow flickering

Flame…
