Sleepless Memories

Sleepless Memories

A Poem by SypherDostravius

I memorized the color of your eyes

As I lost myself inside you

And I memorized the way our legs entwined

As I drifted off beside you

I miss,

God I miss waking up beside you.

You promised that you

Would not abandon me

And you kissed my fears away

Yet I woke up to that day

But I memorized the way our eyes would meet

Reflected in the bathroom mirror

And I memorized your naked silhouette

As you slowly brushed your hair

God I miss waking up beside you.

Through my tears I memorized

How warm your body felt

As I lay half asleep beside you

And I memorized the way the sunlight

Filled the room and played upon your body

God I miss waking up beside you

Now my tears keep me company

During my restless nights

How pitiful and sad am I

My nights are spent alone

Clutching my pillow for comfort…
