Hell in a Bottle

Hell in a Bottle

A Poem by SypherDostravius

I stare at the bottle

Drowning myself in it

Tears fall down my face

As memories past

Haunt my thoughts

I lift the bottle to my lips

And stop as another memory

Floods my mind

I set the bottle down

And bury my face

In my hands crying

Wanting the pain to stop

I take another sip

Hoping to drown them out

I drink and drink

And I fall asleep

Not able to take anymore

My sleep is restless

Having nightmares

I wake up screaming

In a cold sweat

“LEAVE ME ALONE!!”

I grab my head

Rocking back and forth

“No more, no more”

The darkness seems so inviting

So calm compared to myself

The rocking finally puts me to sleep

But the morning comes too soon

No rest for the tortured

And tormented….
