Land of the Free Indeed

Land of the Free Indeed

A Poem by SypherDostravius
"

I described what I see everyday.

"

War is the car

People are the fuel

Money is the engine

Your children sent to die

A president living out his fantasy

Getting off on the destruction

Mother Earth raped again

Guess who

The president says

“It’s for the good of us all.”

How would he know?

He can’t see the future

He can’t predict the consequences

Everything is based on chance

And based on choice

What gives him the right?

Because he is president?

Wrong no one has that power

But Patriotic Americans obey

War propaganda has clouded their minds

And they send off their sons and daughters

Into a firestorm of blood and violence

While like the president parents stay home

Comfortable in there couches watching

The war from afar on their television sets

The old survive while the young fight

For their survival…
