Defeated

Defeated

A Poem by SypherDostravius

My one hand holds the whiskey

My other hand holds the gun

And I cried out to the heavens

I am not my father’s son.

There are too many questions

And not enough answers

So many long paths

I don’t know what to do

After everything I’ve done

And everything I’ve said

My life is broken

My mind confused

The path I walk

Is strewn with broken glass

Here I am barefoot

Here I am alone

I fall to my knees

Damaged and defeated

I’ve shed my tears

Here I lay to rest…
