Metal

Metal

A Poem by Mike L. Smyth

Ear jarring riffs shake my hearing

I rush in to kick the door to splinters

Screaming in sync with complete insanity

Guns ablaze, my world is turned upside down

Fatigue sets in as I eliminate the enemy

I feel no hurt while I push on

Bodies lay in all directions

Blood dripping from my face

I care not, for I am a warrior

The music rushes my adrenaline

Stopping to think is out of the question

Nor is there a cause for second thought

No regretting the lose of life

I continue with my raging metal

It is one with me

I am one with my gun

No telling of an end

It matters not to me

Very intense... very fast paced an erratic but I am sure that is exactly what it must feel like in the middle of battle as you fight for freedom without second thought. Bravo on a well written piece.

mindless violence portrayed in descriptive poetic prose which must be rtead quickly leaving the reader breathless.
