Pure Neutrality

Pure Neutrality

A Poem by Mike L. Smyth

Subtle peace and serenity

Temperature brisk with purpose

A white blanket rains from the sky

Death and sin forgotten instantly

Covered by impenetrable indifference

All that was wrong made all right

The flame of hate put out

Heated issues cooled and tranquil

No flaws left to ponder

Only thoughts of new beginnings

Hope renewed to the lost

Nothing left to be desired

This is almost saying that an intervention takes place. That once death and sin are forgotton there is nothing but indiference left.

Every thing is perfect, no wars, hunger, disease, no hatred of any kind, all that was wrong is put right again.

It paints a pretty picture of perfection, but when there is no desire to change things, nothing to improve, what happens to humanity?

On the surface it is a pretty picture, but underneath a wriggling can of worms is waiting to be opened.

A good write here, I enjoyed the poem and all its hidden meanings.

Thank you

Beautifully said.
Very powerful piece.
I find I can't find just one line or even two as a favorite. They are all my favorites.
Love this poem.
I must thank James for sending this to me.
